Deliver / Store / Dispense
Delivery
For both supplier and client, the benefits of a Banlaw fuel management system relate to open and transparent data disclosure. There is surety at consignment; you know that the product received accurately matches delivery dockets.
Key Functions:
- Identifies inwards transactions (Manual or Auto ID)
- Actuates ball valves to allow authorised deliveries
- Enables unloading pumps
- Receives temperature and flow inputs
- Calculates temperature-compensated measurements
- Stores accurate transaction data
- Captures manifest details, such as volume delivered and docket number
Storage
Banlaw fuel management systems are suitable for both fixed fuel farms, and mobile storages (service trucks). Our solutions deliver tank overfill prevention, tank level monitoring, fluid loss control, and fuel-stock condition management.
Key Functions:
- Real time tank level measurement and recording
- Bulk water detection
- Tank side display for operators
- Bulk storage overfill protection (including SIL rated solutions)
- Automated stock rotation & MCC/PLC controls
- Tracking and management of fluid moves between bulk storages
- Tank side (local) ‘high’ or ‘low’ level alarms
- Software alarms
Dispensing
On the dispense side, Banlaw fuel management systems excel in the areas of fuelling efficiency, and fuel security (No ID, No Fuel = reduced fuel theft). We track consumption of fuels and service fluids to every asset in your fleet. Seamless processes and automatic reporting also reduce the burden of administering contractors, or other 3rd parties that access fluids on your sites.
Key Functions:
- Captures Auto ID inputs from wired or wireless hardware
- Banlaw are the only manufacturer of Auto ID technology integrated within Dry Break Refuelling hardware. External ID technologies are more prone to damage and failure
- Auto ID receivers and Vehicle Tags assign a unique security ID chip to each piece of plant equipment
- Identifies machines and operators by Pin / Swipe / Fob (Employee ID cards supported)
- Captures machine mileage or machine hours (keypad or wireless solutions)
- Controls pumps automatically
- Actuates ball valves automatically
- Manages numerous fuels and fluids from a single ResTrack Controller (of particular importance on mobile service vehicles)
- Captures accurate and temperature-corrected flow data
High-Speed, Safe Refuelling Hardware — Built to Last
Refuelling Hardware — Faster, Safer, Longer-Lasting
Banlaw refuelling hardware sets the standard for rail. Patented dry-break technology delivers up to 1,000 litres per minute per nozzle — faster, safer and with 4x the service life of competing products. Rail operators currently refuelling at 300–500 litres per minute can halve their refuelling time by installing matched Banlaw nozzles, receivers and tank vents. Every component is engineered to mitigate fuel spillage, reduce operator strain, and keep locomotives in service longer.

Controllers
Banlaw ResTrackTM Controllers are at the heart of the fuel management system. These units are deployed on-site in the vicinity of bulk storages, fuel pumps, and dispensing points. The Controllers manage all local fluid access and security, as well as accurately capturing data such as tank levels, fuel dispensed into equipment, fluid moves between storages, and more. Banlaw sells specific Controller versions with advanced functionality to support mobile refuelling applications (service trucks), automated stock rotation, and the integration of electronic safety systems (SIS/SIL).

Software
The Banlaw ResTrackTM Resource Management Software (RMS) is an enterprise software solution for measuring, managing, securing and reporting upon industrial fluids. The RMS can be installed on a corporate network, or as a vendor-managed online fuel management system. ResTrack provides secure anytime, anywhere, any device access to the fuel management system from devices that have a web browser. Banlaw ResTrackTM is an Australian Tax Office (ATO) compliant means of Fuel Tax Credit reconciliation.

Projects
For almost four decades Banlaw have been planning, designing, manufacturing, and deploying high-performance solutions for rail fuel management. We offer a range of engineered solutions to suit the most commonly called-for specifications, and have distilled these capabilities into compact, pre-assembled, ready-to-deploy skids. We also project manage fully customised resource management and ResTrack deployments to your specific scope. This means Banlaw can provide solutions of premium design, targeted to the budget and physical scale of a very wide range of rail facilities.
Banlaw fuel management systems currently manage in excess of 1 billion litres of fuel per month, for customers in 33 countries.

Refuelling in Extreme Temperatures
Banlaw’s cold temperature range is engineered for reliability in the world’s harshest operating environments. Both refuelling-side and locomotive-side components are rated to -40 degrees C, keeping your refuelling processes running without interruption — from outback Australia to Arctic operations. Every component in the cold temperature range meets the same Banlaw standard: engineered to last 4x longer than competing products.
In-Line Refuelling — Locomotive Fuel Transfer on Long-Haul Journeys
In partnership with Australian rail freight operators including Pacific National, Banlaw has engineered a high-performance In-Line connection system enabling unattended diesel-fuel transfer during extended long-haul journeys. This uniquely rail-specific capability allows fuel to be transferred between a tender wagon and a locomotive while in motion — eliminating costly stops on remote stretches of track.
Banlaw Bulk Fluid Transfer Couplings (BFTC) are purpose-built for the harsh, high-vibration rail environment. Their robust materials and extra safety features ensure the coupling stays connected at all times. Unplanned decoupling of in-line hoses can cause fuel outages, environmental incidents and fire risk — Banlaw’s BFTC eliminates that risk. The couplings support bi-directional flow of diesel at up to 500 L/min and can be used to upgrade an existing system or as part of a fully engineered In-Line Refuelling solution.
- Engineered for high-vibration locomotive environments
- Prevents unplanned decoupling, spills and fire risk
- Bi-directional diesel flow up to 500 L/min
- Developed in R&D partnership with Pacific National
Locomotive Servicing — Centralised Fluid Management at the Depot
Banlaw is transforming the approach to locomotive servicing. By co-locating access points for diesel, oils, coolants and greases within a single service box, Banlaw delivers significant depot efficiencies through smart design. Operators no longer need to access multiple points around the locomotive for routine fluid changes — everything is centralised, faster and cleaner.
- Banlaw Evacuation Coupling (BEC) — one universal coupling for removing waste fluid from different-sized receivers using vacuum, without changing the mating nozzle. Fast, clean and safe.
- LubeCentral range — dry-break fittings that eliminate fluid cross-contamination, with enhanced flow rates and full BEC compatibility.
- Hose reels and service bays — Banlaw can design, supply and install fully fitted locomotive service bays with ResTrack monitoring and control, multi-fluid hose reels, and best-in-class couplings for refilling and evacuating all machine fluids.
