Top 10 Fuel Issues

February 16, 2015

Banlaw has spent three decades refining the functionality of the refuelling area. We understand the particular challenges you face with scale, speed and harsh environments. We have outlined the top ten issues our customers come up against with their fuel and hydrocarbon storage, management and use, and how Banlaw can help you to swiftly overcome these issues with tried-and-tested methods and proven cost-effective services.

1. Fuel spills and safety

To identify potential site safety hazards, outsource your safety consulting to Banlaw. Our gap analysis audits will identify potential safety issues and recommend improvements.

Our range of high-performance, durable refuelling products help prevent hazards such as fuel spills, drive-away incidents and operator injury. You can keep your employees safe while still achieving fuel rates of up to 1000lpm.

Banlaw’s safety training will encourage best practice and reduce the risk of safety incidents whilst refuelling and handling hydrocarbons.

 2. Inefficient refuelling

Fuel is the number one consumable expense for most heavy industrial operations and fleets. Inefficient refuelling wastes significant time and money.

Our refuelling hardware delivers flow rates of up to 1,000 litres per minute per nozzle. Operators currently refuelling at 300-500 litres per minute could therefore halve refuelling times by installing correctly matched Banlaw dry-break nozzles, receivers, and tank vents.

With Banlaw, high speed refuelling is achieved whilst maximising safety and machine life. Our refuelling equipment has been ergonomically designed to reduce strain on the operator, and every element has been engineered to mitigate fuel spillages and maximise safety.

Our FillSafe overfill protection systems use a level sensor and flow control unit to determine when refuelling is completed. This means that operators can initiate refuelling, then proceed with higher-value tasks around the machine while refuelling is conducted and completed automatically.

3. Fuel contamination

Maintaining reduced contamination levels in fuels and lubes will save you money. Banlaw can offer advice, products and solutions for proper contamination control from the moment the fuel or lube is delivered to your site, till the moment the fluid is dispensed into your equipment.

Our expertise and knowledge offers solutions from the smallest application up to the largest multi-site installations.

Our high-specification products will keep your fuel and other hydrocarbons clean, both in storage and during refuelling. In particular, our tank side monitoring solutions apply intelligent stock rotation and automated health-checks to ensure fuel stocks remain the same quality as delivered from the supplier.

Specialist products include filtered breathers and vents for storage tanks and engine running tanks to remove particulate contamination from the air. Our holsters and caps have been engineered with sealed connections to prevent leaks and contamination between uses.

Our specialised services for rectifying contamination include filtration and fuel-water separation and biocide treatments.
