Drive-away protection solutions
Drive-aways pose the greatest risk of injury and equipment damage.
Our nozzle holster has an internal electronic proximity switch within the holster that detects when the refuelling nozzle is safely stored. Visual and/or audible alarms alert the vehicle operator (driver) if the refuelling nozzle is not secured to the holster and may potentially remain connected to the refuelling point of their vehicle.
In the event that a driver still drives away whilst connected, the Banlaw break-away valve is designed to fracture at a certain stress, allowing the valve assembly to separate into 2 components. This provides a means of both protecting refuelling system components from damage and preventing spillage of fuel.
Banlaw’s durable Fuel Loading Arms are designed to improve your flowrate whilst minimising slip and trip hazards. Our load arms support the weight of the refuelling hose and coupling, minimising manual handling and potential strain.
Our industry-leading, patented nozzles, receivers and caps help avoid fuel spills and nozzle accidents, even at high refuelling speeds and extreme temperatures. Our nozzles do not need to be held in the ‘on’ position and have features to prevent premature shut-off, avoiding the risk of injury which can occur to refuelling operators.
How Banlaw delivered safer refuelling for Pacific National
Pacific National, a large freight loco operator in Australia, had safety concerns about their existing equipment on long haul rail journeys. They were concerned about the possibility of fuel splashing and leaking when in-line refuelling hoses were disconnected and connected between tanks and locomotives. Banlaw designed and engineered Banlaw Bulk Fluid Transfer Couplings as a solution to avoid this risk .
