Unified Fuel Management

Unified Fuel Management is our unique approach to synergised hydrocarbon and liquid resource management. It delivers productivity, efficiency, and cost reductions like nothing else. Unified Fuel Management optimises all aspects of refuelling, fuel management, fluid transfer, overfill protection as well as machine and facility services. UFM multiplies your productivity gains because each element magnifies the effects of the others.

Fuel Management Systems

A Fuel Management System is a combination of hardware and software products, that together enable security, access, and control of fuel stores, whilst monitoring delivery and consumption. Banlaw fuel management systems are for companies that need increased accuracy, accountability, security or productivity from their fluid assets. It is normal for our fuel management customers to achieve fluid reconciliation rates in excess of 99.5%.

Fuelling Rio’s Bauxite Expansion

The Amrun Project is to produce some 22.8mtpa of Bauxite for the local production of Aluminium, as well as direct export to markets north of Australia. US$1.9b is being spent to expand production from one of the world’s premier Bauxite deposits, which has the potential for expansion to around 50mtpa. Banlaw’s involvement is the design, engineering, and supply of two fuel facilities.

The presenter; João Silveirinha, is Banlaw’s Group Engineering & Development Manager. João’s background is innovation in engineering across a range of industries; more recently Energy, Oil & Gas, and Mining. On a day to day basis João is involved in planning around Functional Safety, Machine Safety and Explosive Atmospheres. His team leverage many of the key International Standards that form the guidelines for safe and innovative practices across numerous heavy industries. João is originally from Portugal, and is now based out of Newcastle in Australia.

Onsite Asset Maintenance

If you want to stay on top of your fuel management without employing your own fuel champions, Banlaw’s expert staff can be an efficient and cost effective alternative. Our staff can be based on-site or visit periodically to conduct inspections and calibrations. There is often a benefit in having an independent third party, separate from your fuel supply company and your staff, perform this work.

Our fuel management software is complemented by a 24 hour, 7 day a week global help desk support package. Staffed by specialists, we can offer assistance from answering a simple question immediately through to resolving complex system issues. Additionally the Help Desk can proactively monitor the health of your system, alerting you to situations before they become problems, and before you even see them on the ground.

Fuel Tax Credits

In Australia, the mining sector is currently able to claim a 38 cents per litre of government fuel tax credit rebate for fuel consumed by heavy mining vehicles on their private roads. With our Fuel Management Systems you can reconcile and prove the allocation of onsite fuel usage by vehicle class (i.e. heavy vehicle vs light vehicle) to claim the maximum fuel tax credits you are entitled to. In the event of an audit, you will be able to provide an accurate account of your claimed consumption with no risk of a back charge.

Fuel Security

Fuel is one of the largest expenses for any business in mining, rail, fleet and port operations. Fuel being stolen or unaccounted is costly to businesses. Fuel reconciliation system, Banlaw FuelTrack™ uses the latest in auto ID technology and can account for 99.5% of fuel stock. It provides precise monitoring, reconciliation and centralised reporting of any machine or vehicle’s fuel or liquid use. We have considered every area that can reduce fuel security and then developed, patented and produced products to eliminate that risk. The patented close-proximity auto ID will shut off the pump once the nozzle and receiver come apart. This, along with the ability to take advantage of site security systems such as Cardax, HID and Smart keys, make it very difficult for unauthorised pump use.
